Bank of Baroda has released one of the biggest officer-level notifications of the year. Under its latest officer recruitment advertisement, the bank is hiring 2,482 Local Bank Officers in the JMG/S-I grade on a regular basis. What makes this special is that you get posted in your own state, close to your home and your language. Gujarat alone has 1,185 vacancies, followed by Karnataka with 418 and Maharashtra with 218. If you are already working as an officer in a bank and want a stable public-sector career, this is a very strong chance. Online registration started on 18 August 2026 and the last date to apply is 7 September 2026. Please remember, this is not a fresher notification — you need at least one year of experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank. Bank of Baroda is one of India’s largest nationalized banks, owned by the Government of India. The Local Bank Officer scheme was created so that customers get an officer who speaks their local language and understands the local market. That is why every vacancy is tied to a particular state and its language.

The selection has five clear stages. Don’t worry — if you prepare section by section, it is very much doable. Online Test — objective type, 120 questions, 120 marks, 120 minutes total. Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT) — you are exempted if your 10th or 12th marksheet shows the specified local language as a subject. Group Discussion and/or Personal Interview, which may include a psychometric test. Minimum qualifying marks are 60% for General and 55% for reserved candidates. Document Verification along with biometric and Aadhaar verification. Pre-joining Medical Examination, the cost of which is borne by the candidate.

Selected candidates join in the Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMG/S-I) of Bank of Baroda. The notification states the pay scale exactly as follows: ₹48,480 – 2000/7 – ₹62,480 – 2340/2 – ₹67,160 – 2680/7 – ₹85,920 basic pay starts at ₹48,480 per month and rises through regular increments up to ₹85,920. Starting Basic Pay: ₹48,480 per month Maximum Basic Pay in the scale: ₹85,920 per month One advance increment is granted if you have one year or more of work experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank On top of the basic pay, you get allowances and benefits as per the industry-level bipartite settlement and the Joint Note applicable to bank officers, plus bank-specific allowances and perquisites as per Bank of Baroda policy. The notification does not print a fixed CTC or gross monthly figure, so please do not go by any number you see on social media — go only by the pay scale given above. Two conditions you must plan for: there is a probation period of 12 months from the date of joining, and a service bond of 3 years. If you leave before completing three years, you have to pay the bank an amount equal to three months’ gross salary, subject to a maximum of ₹2,00,000.

Click on the Local Bank Officer 2026 registration link and complete the new registration using your active email ID and mobile number. Fill in your personal details, educational qualification and banking experience details carefully. Select the single state you wish to apply for — this cannot be changed later. Upload your photograph, signature, educational certificates and experience certificate as per the given size and format. Pay the application fee online using debit card, credit card, internet banking or UPI. Submit the form and download the final PDF for your records. Please keep your experience certificate or job profile letter ready from your present or previous employer. If your job profile does not substantially match that of a Scale-I officer at Bank of Baroda, your application can be rejected at any stage.
