Service Details
The Nirman Shramik Kalyan Yojana is a government welfare initiative primarily managed by the Odisha Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (OB&OCWWB) to provide financial stability, social security, and educational scholarships to registered construction workers and their children. Students can avail Scholarship only once in a year. Beneficiary is eligible to apply & avail education assistance under NSKY in scholarship portal irrespective of applying/availing in any other department schemes.
Key Benefit: Educational Scholarship
The scheme heavily focuses on supporting the education of the workers' children from Class 6 up to Post-Graduation and Professional courses:
Class 6 to 7: ₹2,000 per year (Eligible for girls only).
Class 8 to 10: ₹2,500 to ₹3,000 per year (Both boys and girls).
Class 11 & 12 / +2: Around ₹5,000 per year.Graduation (B.A, B.Sc, B.Com): Around ₹6,000 per year.
Technical/Professional (B.Tech, MBA, MCA, Nursing, Medical): Up to ₹40,000 per year
Other Welfare Benefits for Registered Workers
Beyond education, a worker holding a valid Labour Card gets several safety nets:
Maternity Benefit: ₹10,000 per child (Up to two children).
Marriage Assistance: ₹50,000 for the marriage of a daughter (or a female worker's own marriage).
Death/Accident Benefit: Ex-gratia financial assistance for accidental or natural death.
Funeral Expenses: ₹5,000 provided to the family upon a worker's demise.

Eligibility / Who Can Apply
To successfully receive benefits, the family must fulfill these strict rules:
State Residency: The applicant must be a permanent resident of Odisha.
Active Registration: Parent(s) must be registered with the OB&OCWWB for at least 1 year.
Valid Labour Card: The construction worker’s card must be renewed and updated.
Academic Standing: The student must have passed their previous academic year exam.

No fees for applying in this Scholarship.
How to Apply
Applications for the scholarship are accepted online via the Odisha State Scholarship Portal.
Visit the portal and click on Registration/Login.
Provide your Aadhaar and fill out student and academic details.
Link the application using the Labour Card details of your parent.
Upload scanned copies of the required documents and submit.
